Welcome to episode 2 of the Creators Class podcast! The podcast that takes you into the lives of the most amazing creators in the world today, uncovering their new monetization strategies and learning more about how they’re carrying the creative flame.
In this episode, Nick Cicero and Nick Robinson interview Audrey Spencer, aka cakes1todough1, who is a talented Snapchat artist who we met through CyreneQ. Then, we wrap up the show with the GOAT of the week.
Interview with cakes1todough1
Audrey Spencer got started on Snapchat right after she graduated art school, so she has a natural ability to create intricate doodles, which often feature her cat.
She took us through her process, consisting of playing with her cat using toys, waiting for the right pose, and snapping away.
We then asked what the inflection point was for her when she decided to go all in on Snapchat. Audrey explained that Reddit was the beginning of her popularity. After the Reddit post, Buzzfeed contacted her, and ended up producing a post about her cat.
Next, we talk a bit about what content resonates with her audience and how geofilters contribute to the Snapchat experience. Did you know that Audrey has been to Japan? We learn a little bit about her trip.
We cap off the interview with her giving advice to other aspiring Snap artists. Listen to the show to find out!
GOAT of the Week
This week’s GOAT of the week is a special Super Bowl edition about the halftime show.
Did you see the Left Shark during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl Performance? Instead of Katy Perry being the star of the show, the choreographer to her left, who happened to be dressed like a shark, was dancing out of sync. The internet community took a liking to the Shark, and a lawsuit followed from Katy Perry’s office.
Do you think this a new precedent for e-policy?
